"Because Jehovah Dios de Israel said so: flour the jar no shortage, nor the vessel oil will decrease, until the day that Jehovah made rain upon the face of the Earth" (1 Kings 17:14)
COMPLEMENTARY passage: 1 Kings 17:8-16; Psalm 144:12-15
God, good and generous father, yearns for human beings to connect with his countless blessings and may receive his unquenchable provision in everything you need to be happy and give fruit in all areas of his life. The instrument that he has arranged for this, is the faith. Consider a simple woman who firmly believed the Dios of Israel, and can enjoy the gifts that God had reserved for her and her family.
She was a widow woman who, although foreign, had heard of the God of Israel and without knowing it, believed him and respected him in reverent fear as a living and true God. It believed also in the Prophet that God sent to his house, so obey him promptly, to give you sustenance and shelter, sharing her little provision which had for her and her son, which thought that it would be the last bite of his life.
Although it was truly difficult to obey in the circumstances was that, because it meant to put at risk his life and that of her infant son, it was their admirable faith, which allowed him to give what little he had, and then see how generosity is rewarded when it comes from a heart that is allowed to have an impact for the love of God. The result of their faith, was a matchless blessing, because the jar of flour not scarce nor the vessel oil waned. There was provision for her and your family in the midst of a severe environmental crisis experienced by the region, because of the sin of Israel.
One of the symbols of the Holy Spirit is the oil, and also when it is a heart full of faith and obedience, not takes to act, producing an inexhaustible supply of peace, power, joy and sustenance to the lives of people, meeting their needs and giving them strength to leave victorious always and in all circumstances. Everything in order that the name of the Lord be glorified, and many believe in him and be saved.
