"Not you comfortless; I will come to you"(John 14:18)
COMPLEMENTARY passage: John 16:5-15; Psalm 2:7-8
What a wonderful statement that fills us with hope! Words so conducive precisely in a time where to walk more humans on the planet than in any other period, and which paradoxically the vast majority of people feel alone. With reason psychiatrists and psychologists from the end of last century, is anticipated to what was to come, describing this century as the century of loneliness. We may be surrounded by many people that we want and care about us, but many times we feel abandoned, like orphans.
Thus experienced the disciples of Jesus, after the announcement of his imminent departure. It was impossible to not be saddened to learn that would now not be more his master. How much security provided them their presence! How many times had saved them dangers, comforted in defeats, provided the need? What would they now? Who would rebuke the wind and the sea is aplacase the storm and they could get safely to their destination? Who would heal them when one became seriously ill? Who would teach them beautiful truths that encouraged their hearts and filled them with hope?
But, knowing the Lord their concerns and fears, it makes them this special announcement: "If ye love me, keep my commandments. And I will ask the father, and he shall give you another comforter, to be with you forever". As well, that tender company that brings comfort and shelter was the Holy Spirit, this special gift, that wonderful person that motivates us, clean, runs and bends our interior being before him.
You can now open your mind and heart to receive this wonderful truth. Jesus Christ is our Savior and the Holy Spirit has been sent as the comforter par excellence, to fill all empty, to meet every need, to heal every wound. Join me today and raise together this prayer:
WE TALK WITH GOD
"Lord Jesus, thank you for giving us a new day, for count in every morning your wise presence, you need to be happy. Give us the gift of your holy spirit for ever more feel alone and thus our lives can regain its true meaning, which is to enjoy your love and become a useful tool in your hands. When the Holy Spirit comes, he will tell you what is the truth and will guide them, so that they always live in the truth. He will not speak on his own, but will tell you what the father heard of God, and will teach you what is about to happen. You will also know all about me, and so I will honor. All that is of the father, is also mine; "why I said the spirit will let them know everything about me." Amen
